Instead of toasting a couple of muffins with eggs and bacon, how about adding a burger patty to that collection of breakfast foods and make yourself a brunch burger this July 4th?
The star ingredient of a brunch burger is the fried egg. The egg should burst on contact to create a pool of yoke, which the lucky recipient will have the pleasure of mopping up with their burger while they eat. Check out my very amateurish video of a sexy yoke drop – whoa! Nice right?

No need for gourmet ingredients here, 80% lean ground beef, and your favorite bacon and cheddar cheese will do just fine, but make sure you use fresh eggs. Using fresh eggs, will allow you to slowly fry the egg to a beautiful softness very easily without the yoke breaking. Less fresh eggs can become fragile when cooking, resulting in a miserable looking fried egg.
The brunch burger is a devil of a burger. It’s likely to have you yearning for your bed even if you have experienced a recently satisfying slumber, and if you serve your brunch burgers with mimosas or bloody marys – you’ll stand no chance.
If you’re lucky enough to have some time off during the July 4th holiday, returning to the bedroom for some well earned rest, or to work off those calories, if you know what I mean 🙂 might be what the doctor ordered. So go for it, make you and your loved one a brunch burger and bask in the glory.
