I better start out with explaining what a Boozy Aperol Spritz is. Well, it’s much the same as a traditional Aperol Spritz, but instead of a splash of soda, a Boozy Aperol Spritz requires a splash of triple sec.

Boozy Aperol Spritz by Diverse Dinners

Some of you might be saying “now is this necessary?” Well no, but my friends and family believe it is. They are mostly refined folk but regularly require a cocktail that packs some punch. It doesn’t have to be crazy strong, but to avoid their disdain for the delicate balance of low ABV, I often have to come up with variations of traditional cocktails to keep them happy.

So, if like my crowd you are in need of a cocktail that has all the elements of refinement yet stays around to be noticed, the Boozy Aperol Spritz is a good option.

The Aperol Spritz has made a comeback folks. My viewpoint is that if it’s not on a cocktail menu at a bar or restaurant, the bar or restaurant have either already explored it’s resurgence and moved on, or the management is clueless and therefore their establishment should be avoided.

When I went home to London during summer last year (something I am unable to do this year – sob) versions of the Aperol Spritz was everywhere. In fact I attended a marvelous Aperol Spritz party. Check this video out.

Cousin Tracy joined me on this trip, we had a blast. Can you hear her laugh in the background when we do the wave? I defy anyone not to join in when she gets to laughing.

Not sure what Prosecco to use? Fear not, use any that you enjoy. However, your choice will affect taste, so if you prefer a cocktail with sweeter notes, get a Prosecco in keeping with your preference. I used 90+ Cellars Prosecco in today’s recipe, but I do prefer something more fruity such as Zardetto.

The Boozy Aperol Spritz is a truly refreshing tipple and a perfect summer drink. Don’t miss out and give it a try.
