This recipe is simple. Just place one cherry with a couple teaspoons of the syrup surrounding the cherries in the bottom of a glass, then blend the balance of ingredients in a blender until thick and smooth. Pour the blended ingredients on top of the cherry and serve. That’s it!

If you’re wondering which maraschino cherries to buy, I can highly recommend Luxardo The Original Maraschino Cherries. The cherries are a deep dark color surrounded by a super sweet syrup. They taste so good, but they are super sweet, therefore, no more than one cherry is recommended.

Cherry Bourbon Milkshake is so tasty. It’s ideal as a replacement for dessert after a meal. Or you could serve it as a late evening snack as a pick me up. Or even at a cocktail party or buffet served in large shot glasses. It’s a drink for grown folks at anytime you desire.

No need to add too many flavors, the milk and ice cream are perfect with bourbon. Plus the maraschino cherries are very sweet, hence no need for a sweetener. I love the simplicity of this recipe, don’t you?

Did I mention that this milkshake is rather decadent? One pint of ice cream or gelato is used to serve four. Perhaps it would be kind to serve Cherry Bourbon Milkshake on a cheat day. Nonetheless, whatever day you serve it, your tastebuds will be delighted.
