Happy New Year! It’s the first day of 2018 and what better way to celebrate than with a tasty tipple. I suggest this smashing cocktail – Lemon Ginger Bourbon Fizz. It’s flipping wonderful.

This cocktail is a combination of lemon juice, fresh ginger, granulated honey, black tea and sparkling apple cider. The ginger is the driving force in this cocktail, absolutely ideal for the weather we’re having in New York. Let me tell you, cold is an understatement.

After returning from London a couple of days ago, I had to do an emergency shop for groceries for my New Years Eve dinner party. The temperature at that time was approx. 10 ° F, in my opinion, too cold to be out shopping. As soon as I returned home I whipped up a lemon ginger bourbon fizz. The fresh ginger makes this cocktail a very warming drink, just what I needed. This cocktail is a ginger lovers dream, and the rest of the ingredients help to carry the zing of the ginger forward.

You can find your way to the bottom of the glass of a lemon ginger bourbon fizz before you know it, it’s very drinkable. I like to curl up on the sofa watching movies on Turner Classic Movies when enjoying a glass of  lemon ginger bourbon fizz. I’d prefer to curl up in front of a fire, but I don’t have one of those.

I must admit though, I have never shared this cocktail with anyone! I came up with the recipe on my own, and it has been my special drink. Give this recipe a try, I am sure you will enjoy this comfort inducing cocktail and perhaps you can share it with a friend or loved ones. Remember drinks responsibly.
