Are you having a New Year’s Eve party this year? If yes, make sure to serve these wonderful lamb sliders. They are so tasty and packed with flavor, and they will work really well with a cocktail. A nice bubbly creation, like a Classic Champagne Cocktail, or an Organic Elderflower Presse Martini perhaps?

Lamb Sliders by Diverse Dinners

As you can see I served thick cut sweet potato fries with my lamb sliders, but you can serve them with any fries, whatever your belly desires. Placing the fries in the middle of a ring of lamb sliders works really well no matter how you plan on serving them. You can lay plates of sliders and fries out for your guests to just pick at. Or, if you are lucky enough to have someone pass them around while your guests mingle, you should stand back and enjoy your guests’ reaction to being served two things on one plate, with the likely option of only being able to pick up one with their spare hand. Hey, you’ve gotta get your kicks where you can!

As I mentioned, these sliders are filled with flavor, they’re packed with fresh herbs and red onion and the yogurt sauce is now slouch either, greek yogurt, mixed with roasted garlic, mint and lemon – yum.

Lamb Sliders by Diverse Dinners

I created this recipe before I started on my 12 Diverse Dinners Recipes of Christmas, and I’ve been patiently waiting for an appropriate time to share these bad boys with you, they’re truly terrific. Trevor and I ate them within minutes. I made six for us, three for me and three for Trevor, but I had to donate one of mine to Trevor for fear he might lash out somehow. Anything is possible when you get in the way of Trevor and his food. So be warned, If you plan on serving these lamb sliders at your new year’s eve shindig make sure to make enough for a few people to turn some down, so that there is enough for those who take their food more seriously.

Happy New Year!

  • 8 oz Greek yogurt
  • 2 tsp fresh mint minced
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp kosher salt

Lamb Sliders Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb ground lamb
  • 2 tbsp fresh marjoram chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh oregano chopped
  • 2 tsp kosher salt
  • 2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 cup red onions minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 12 slider buns sliced in half

Equipment & Utensils

  • Baking sheet
  • Large bowl
  • large grill pan or fry pan

Instructions

Yogurt Sauce Directions

  • Cut off head of garlic and remove the layers on the outside of the garlic until one or two layers are left.
  • Drizzle with olive oil and then wrap garlic in foil and place on a baking sheet.
  • Place garlic in preheated oven at 400 for 30-40 minutes.
  • Once your kitchen fills with a strong scent of garlic, check to see if the centers of your cloves of garlic are nice and soft. If no, return to oven and continue to roast.
  • Once garlic is nice and soft, remove from oven and allow to cool.
  • Once garlic is cool, place yogurt in a bowl and add garlic, mint, lemon juice and salt, mix thoroughly until ingredients are completely combined and nicely blended.
  • Place in fridge while you create your sliders.

Lamb Sliders Directions

  • Place lamb, herbs, salt and pepper, and red onions in a bowl and mix thoroughly.
  • Divide mixture into equal portions (approx. 12) and form the portions into small meat patties just a little wider than your slider buns.
  • Place olive oil into your pan and heat.
  • Once the oil is hot place the patties into the pan - you may have to cook the patties in two batches.
  • Cook patties for 3-5 minutes either side dependent upon desired temperature.
  • And allow to rest for 2 mins.
  • While patties are resting, heat slider buns either in your grill pan or under the broiler. Just a little do not crisp your slider buns.
  • Place one patty onto the bottom of one half of a slider bun, top with a dollop of yogurt sauce and then place top of slider bun on top.
  • Serve with fries.
