Don’t you love a tasty potato salad? I can usually handle a small spoonful, but the recipe I am sharing with you today has called me back for more and more so many times.
Are you cooking for your dad or husband this Father’s Day? You should, he will love it, especially if you make him a wonderful meatloaf burger. As you would expect it’s a mass of ground meat, in this case, veal, pork and beef, garnished with bacon, cornichons and lashings of tomato ketchup, sandwiched between a warm kaiser roll with dipping sauce on the side.
Here’s one of my favorite weeknight meals, featuring baked crusted salmon which is the recipe I’d like to share with you today. The majority of the work in creating this dish is in making the crust, once that’s done, all you need to do is layer the ingredients and bake.
Roasted okra is such a simple appetizer or side dish, it would be foolhardy not to add it to your menu, when you next have folks visiting. Preparation and cooking is quick and easy, allowing you to lay your concentration on the more labor intensive dishes on your menu. You may be asking, what makes roasted okra such a slam dunk for serving to guests? Well, first, as I said, they are so easy to prepare, and second, they look beautiful just sitting there on a plate or in a bowl dressed in nothing but a little oil and coarse ground salt.
I really enjoy a trio of sliders. They’re so easy to eat and they don’t overwhelm your appetite. However, I am often disappointed by the buns restaurants and bars use. They’re usually the generic fluffy bun, tasty and fresh, but I feel sliders are way more fun when served in between something more interesting. Hence today’s recipe, Tuscan sliders.
The bistro burger is a chunky succulent burger, topped with thick slices of brie and lashings of thyme scented caramelized onions. You will have to put your calorie counting aside to enjoy this one, and I recommend that you do, because it’s epic.
I really think this burger might have the ability to place #1 in my burger lab series and reign supreme as my ultimate burger.
It’s time to introduce my new project – “Burger Lab Series”, just in time for Memorial Day.
I have been furiously working on perfecting my favorite burger. Note what I say here. Not the perfect burger, but instead my favorite burger. There are too many celebrity chefs out there who have won the crown for the perfect burger, so I don’t feel the need to dispel or confirm their recipes, their needs and burger purities are not mine. I am keen to know though what’s required to make a magnificent burger. So I developed a bunch of recipes and tested them, and tested them, and the result is some really tasty burgers.
I had a lot of fun today at Harlem EatUp 2016 a four-day food festival in Harlem. The kick-off provided the community with the opportunity to dine at local restaurants and enjoy meals prepared by the executive chef in concert with celebrity chefs. I wasn’t quick enough to nab a ticket to one of the many dinners – they went like hotcakes! But I didn’t let the disappointment consume me, I just waited patiently for the weekend, and took part in the all-day event on Sunday aptly named “The Sunday Stroll”
It was so good to hob nob with celebrity chefs and innovators in the food industry, and I am pleased to confirm that I met Cory Nieves of the famed Mr. Cory’s Cookies – check him out!
How about this antioxidant rich, super power of a smoothie bowl for breakfast? A berry beet smoothie bowl is a great way to start your day. It’s vibrant colors and and textures are sure to start your day off just right.
How about this wonderful asparagus quinoa salad? It has everything you need – nutritious green vegetables, to help protect the body; quinoa, a gluten-free protein that will keep you adequately satisfied until your next meal; halloumi for, gosh darn it, great taste; garlic, for intense flavor; and finally, pomegranate, for antioxidants, and a sweet lift to your salad. Yum – right?
I love this salad. It’s a great meal anytime and absolutely scrumptious. The flavors of each ingredient are so distinctive, but play together so well.
